The NHL held its 2021 Draft Lottery on Wednesday night, determining that the Rangers will pick 15th while the Devils will pick fourth.

The Buffalo Sabres, who had the highest odds of securing the top pick due to their league-worst record, will indeed by picking first. The expansion Seattle Kraken will pick second, while the Anaheim Ducks round out the top three.

The first round of the 2021 NHL Draft will take place on July 23, with rounds 2-7 taking place the next day.

The Devils won the 2019 Draft Lottery and ended up taking Jack Hughes. That year, the Rangers secured the second pick, drafting Kaapo Kakko. In 2020, the Rangers secured the first pick (despite having just a 12.5% odds at doing so, and selected Alexis Lafreniere.
