The Chicago Bears used their second fifth-round pick of the 2020 NFL Draft on Georgia Southern cornerback Kindle Vildor, who joins second-round selection Jaylon Johnson (Utah) as reinforcements for a secondary that desperately needed help.
Vildor, who missed time in 2019 with an ankle injury, finished the season with 27 tackles, two interceptions and six pass breakups. According to NFL Network's Lance Zierlein, Vildor "does a nice job of challenging throws effectively when he's in position thanks to his length and timing, but he'll need to improve his route recognition and anticipation as a pro."
Here's how Twitter reacted to the pick:
Kindle Vildor ain't bad. A little tighter in the hips than I would've liked, but can play some zone. If If you wanted a corner, I'm just not sure how you don't want Essang Bassey there. This guy is almost as productive. #Bears

Kindle "the e-reader" Vildor is an absolute gamer.

I LOVE Kindle Vildor to Chicago in the 5th.
Physical, aggressive corner with quick back-pedal skills. Long speed is a big question mark, but that tenacious mentality and positional value is worth a selection this late alone.

Kindle Vildor is a fast, productive long cornerback who uses his speed to his advantage. Won't offer much against the run, but good special teamer and can get interceptions. See him as a nickel corner for the #Bears

Bears take another corner (always good value). Kindle Vildor from Georgia Southen. Very explosive with excellent ball skills. Had a good Sr. Bowl

Kindle Vildor with 9 career interceptions at Georgia Southern so the Bears seem to have gotten another non Power-5 stud. Chicago has been doing adequately.
