2020 FANTASY FOOTBALL QB RANKINGS: PRESEASON
1. Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs (ADP: 19)
2019 stats: 319 Comp, 4031 Yds, 26 TDs
2019 points: 287.04
After suffering a serious ankle injury that plagued him for the entire season (he was still good enough to lead the Chiefs to a Super Bowl Championship) his fantasy numbers were a bit of a drop off from his electric 2018 campaign. However, he still averaged 23.4 fantasy points per game with six games with at least 25 points. Whether you prefer Mahomes or Jackson is your personal preference, but both dual-threat QBs are on pace to have stellar seasons. Tyreek Hill (healthy) is still one of the top skill position players in the NFL, Travis Kelce is still one of the top tight ends in the NFL, alongside Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman and new toy Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Mahomes has a plethora of talented, and speedy, options. Buckle up.
2. Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens (ADP: 22)
2019 stats: 265 Comp, 3127 Yds, 36 TDs
2019 points: 415.6
1,206 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns, to go along with 3,127 passing yards and 36 touchdowns. The kid is good. With an average of 31.5 Fantasy points per game in 2019, it's obvious why Jackson is one of the most highly sought after players in drafts, not just quarterbacks. On nine different occasions in 2019, Jackson had 28+ fantasy points. Jackson did injure his groin during training camp which caused him to miss a handful of practices. Keep that information handy when deciding between Jackson and Mahomes as your fantasy signal-caller in 2020.
3. Russell Wilson - Seattle Seahawks (ADP: 52)
2019 stats: 341 Comp, 4110 Yds, 31 TDs
2019 points: 328.6
Mr. Consistent a.k.a Russell Wilson. In the past six seasons, Wilson has finished as a top-eight Fantasy football quarterback in five of them. Three straight seasons of at least 31 touchdowns with one of the more underwhelming wide receiving corps in the league. Now, Wilson has a dynamic group of athletes on each side of him that could lead to even more production. Wilson has made it known that he wants this seasons offense to operate at a faster tempo which could be bad for opposing defenses, but most importantly more points for you.
4. Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys (ADP: 43)
2019 stats: 388 Comp, 4902 Yds, 7 TDs
2019 points: 337.7
Prescott has a different coaching staff now with head coach Mike McCarthy and offensive coach Kellen Moore. Both are focused on one thing: maximizing the production at the quarterback position. During Prescotts 2019 season he set career highs for yards per attempt, completions of 20-plus and 40-plus, all while rushing for 250+ in his fourth straight season. And after an impressive draft selection of Oklahoma star wideout CeeDee Lamb, his weapons are Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, Blake Jarwin, Ezekiel Elliott, and Tony Pollard.
5. Deshaun Watson - Houston Texans (ADP: 41)
2019 stats: 333 Comp, 3852 Yds, 26 TDs
2019 points: 319.9
Watsons stock as a top-three fantasy quarterback took a drastic hit when the Houston Texans weirdly traded away All-Pro wideout, DeAndre Hopkins. However, Watsons pure talent and intelligence at the position cant allow him to fall out of the top-five. Watson has been one of the most efficient passers in the NFL since entering the league, while also torching defenses with his mobility. Will Fuller and Brandin Cooks are speedy past catchers that can stretch the field for Watson, they just have to stay healthy.
6. Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals (ADP: 58)
2019 stats: 349 Comp, 3722 Yds, 20 TDs
2019 points: 285.2
One teams trash is another teams treasure, and with newly acquired star DeAndre Hopkins headlining Murrays receiving corps, we all could be in for a treat. As a rookie, Murrays 3,772 passing yards were the seventh-best by a first-year passer and his completion percentage (64.4) was the fourth highest of anyone with 300 or more attempts. After passing success in year one, Murray is primed to lead over and sophomore slump and establish himself as a solidified Fantasy QB option.
7. Matt Ryan - Atlanta Falcons (ADP: 78)
2019 stats: 408 Comp, 4466 Yds, 26 TDs
2019 points: 267.3
Over the past four seasons, Matt Ryan has averaged 292 passing yards per game. One of the most underrated quarterbacks in the NFL. Period. The Falcons offensive line has to drastically improve in order for Ryan to return anywhere close to his top-three finishes in 2016 and 2018. Another factor into Ryans promise as a top-10 fantasy quarterback is the fact that the Falcons defense is putrid. Look for Ryan to let it fly if this team is fighting early deficits.
8. Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints (ADP: 70)
2019 stats: 281 Comp, 2979 Yds, 27 TDs
2019 points: 224.7
Phew, 20 seasons of Drew Brees fantasy football projections and hes still in the top-10. Talk about longevity, huh? At 41-years-old, Brees is fortunate to have such a talented group of weapons around him -- the NFLs best receiver in Michael Thomas, a top-5 back in Alvin Kamara, as well as Emmanuel Sanders and Jared Cook. If Brees can stay healthy theres no doubt the veteran will put up big numbers.
9. Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills (ADP: 68)
2019 stats: 271 Comp, 3089 Yds, 20 TDs
2019 points: 288.5
Josh Allen was already on a lot of Fantasy owners radar due to his gunslinging ability mixed with his electrifying rushing ability, but those owners became even more intrigued when the Bills acquired Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. In 2019 Allen was third amongst quarterbacks in 2019 behind Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray with 510 rushing yards. Most importantly, he led all quarterbacks with 9 rushing touchdowns.
10. Matthew Stafford - Detroit Lions (ADP: 100)
2019 stats: 187 Comp, 2499 Yds, 19 TDs
2019 points: 166.5
A few fractured bones in Matthew Staffords back stopped him in the midst of a productive 2019 season. Stafford 28+ points in five of the eight games he played last year, averaging 24.6 fantasy points per game. Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones, and T.J. Hockenson give Stafford a plethora of capable options and are also names you should keep an eye on in your Fantasy draft.
11. Carson Wentz - Philadelphia Eagles (84)
2019 stats: 388 Comp, 4039 Yds, 27 TDs
2019 points: 275.8
12. Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh Steelers (119)
2019 stats: 35 Comp, 351 Yds, 0 TDs
2019 points: 12.74
13. Tom Brady - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (82)
2019 stats: 373 Comp, 4057 Yds, 24 TDs
2019 points: 263.6
14. Jarod Goff. - Los Angeles Rams (117)
2019 stats: 394 Comp, 4638 Yds, 22 TDs
2019 points: 247.5
15. Aaron Rodgers - Green Bay Packers (75)
2019 stats: 353 Comp, 4002 Yds, 26 TDs
2019 points: 278.3
16. Baker Mayfield - Cleveland Browns (106)
2019 stats: 317 Comp, 3827 Yds, 22 TDs
2019 points: 229.1
17. Cam Newton - New England Patriots (161)
2019 stats: 50 Comp, 572 Yds, 0 TDs
2019 points: 16.68
18. Kirk Cousins - Minnesota Vikings (137)
2019 stats: 307 Comp, 3603 Yds, 26 TDs
2019 points: 244.4
19. Jimmy Garopollo - San Francisco 49ers (134)
2019 stats: 329 Comp, 3978 Yds, 27 TDs
2019 points: 247.3
20. Sam Darnold - New York Jets (182)
2019 stats: 273 Comp, 3024 Yds, 19 TDs
2019 points: 189.1
