Watch this albino raccoon eat a container of blueberries

A Taiwanese owner of a rare albino raccoon posted a video of the little critter eating blueberries. But it gets even more adorable: The red-furred rodent was dressed in a blue bib with a tie print.

In the video, the raccoon lounges comfortably on its back while sitting on a beige cushion. The animal did receive a little help from its owner who picked up stray berries that slipped away during the gorge session. The raccoon quickly finishes the whole container then turns on its side for a post-meal nap.

The cute clip is, of course, a bit unusual. Not only because it’s rare to keep the rodents as pets, but it’s rarer that an albino raccoon would survive to adulthood. Without the usual dark fur, the animals are left vulnerable to predators because they cannot camouflage themselves. In fact, it’s more likely you’d be struck by lightning than see one.

While there’s a 1 in 10,000 chance a raccoon is born with albinism, there’s about a one in 750,000 you’d actually encounter one, according to Skedaddle Wildlife

Dr. Karen Becker of Healthy Pets says regardless of whether it’s albino or not, raccoons do not make good pets. The mischievous creatures can destroy entire homes if left unsupervised. They’re not easily house trained, are notorious biters and can carry diseases that are transmittable to humans. Moreover, these needy rodents require constant attention and a commitment of 10 to 15 years because they cannot be returned to the wild.

So while it may be adorable in theory, don’t try this at home!
