Living in New York City, sometimes you have to get creative with running errands. While I’ve always sworn by companies that will deliver household essentials to your doorstep (I’ve permanently said goodbye to multiple trips a week to the drugstore), now it’s especially important to have those items shipped to you if you’re spending more time at home.

That’s where Grove Collaborative comes in. This direct-to-consumer household essentials company is committed to offering more people safer, environmentally friendly products through its flexible recurring shipment plan. While Grove is known for its cleaning supplies and laundry products, each month you can select the natural products you need to replenish, including everything from skincare products, pet goods, personal care items and even baby essentials.

Each brand that Grove carries has been exclusively chosen to meet its standards — it has to be non-toxic, sustainable and cruelty-free. But what’s cool about Grove is that the company also has created its own line of products like its best-selling Laundry Starter Set that includes an auto-dose detergent dispenser and seasonal soaps that come with a glass bottle and a refill. Plus, Grove recently announced that by 2025, the brand will be 100 percent plastic-free by removing plastic from everything they sell and make, which is a huge stepping stone for a company that sells products typically made out of plastic bottles.

After your first Grove order, you can customize what you’ll receive and how frequent your shipments will come, and you’ll even be assigned a “Grove Guide,” which is essentially like a personal shopper who will text you about your orders and offer personalized suggestions. It’s been one of my favorite ways to automatically receive things like toilet paper, makeup wipes, and cleaning supplies without having to worry about when I’ll run out next.
