The 17th edition of the quadrennial international championship of Asia will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) early next year.
The tournament will feature 24 teams from the Asian continent and India are one of them, having topped their third round qualification group consisting of Myanmar, Macau and the Kyrgyz Republic. This will be the Asian Cup's biggest edition to date.
Australia are the defending champions, having won the edition in 2015.
The draw for the tournament will play a crucial role in how the Asian Cup unfolds. So, when is the draw? Where is the draw?
The group stages of the tournament will see the 24 teams drawn into six groups of four each (Groups A-F).
16 teams will qualify to the knockout stages from the groups. Which means the top two teams from each group and four best third-placed teams will go through to the knockout stages.

The draw will take place at the Dubai Opera in Dubai on May 4, 2018.

The 24 teams have been divided into four pots consisting of six teams each according to their FIFA rankings of April 2018. Each group will have a team from each of the four pots.
Hosts UAE will be placed in Pot 1 along with the heavyweights of the continent and will be drawn first to take up a slot in Group A. The rest of the teams will be drawn at random.
