1984 Corvette a Year Late, Still Best Sports Car In the World

Chevrolet built Corvettes on an early-1960s chassis design from 1963 all the way through the 1982 model year, so The General decided to take a huge technological leap forward to create an all-new, fully modern Corvette for 1983. Unfortunately, that leap was just a bit too forward, and production headaches meant the new Corvette didn't show up until the 1984 model year. Here's a magazine advertisement for that car.

Naturally, the ad quotes this very publication, with our suggestion that you "take a high-performance driving course so your ability equals the car's."
