Rookie coach Zac Taylor had some challenges to work through after following in the footsteps of Marvin Lewis, who was there from 2003-18.

The Browns went all the way to 0-16, and it wasn't until a 2-5-1 start in 2018 that finally forced the team to fire Jackson.

Cleveland finished 1-15. And Hue Jackson kept his job.

Peyton Manning meant so much to the Colts organization that when he missed the season recovering from neck surgery, they started 0-11 and finished 2-14. Consider the New England Patriots in 2008 lost Tom Brady for the year and still found a way to go 11-5.

The Lions became the first team since 1978, when the NFL went to 16 games, to go winless. Detroit fired general manager Matt Millen after an 0-3 start, but allowed Rod Marinelli to finish his coaching tenure. That'll show 'em.

Indianapolis wanted to give rookie quarterback Jack Trudeau significant snaps, which was the basis of their 0-11 start. The Colts would land running back Eric Dickerson in a midseason trade the next year and make the playoffs.

The Saints fired Dick Nolan the next game. So, 0-10 was fine, 0-11 is acceptable, but 0-12 is just downright embarrassing, especially for an organization that hadn't posted a winning record in team history to this point.

Coach John McKay was in favor of his team's execution until they won their first game in club history after an 0-12 start. Incidentally it was against Hank Stram and the New Orleans Saints.

The Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, and Los Angeles Rams courted the successful USC coach, but he took the money and ran with the expansion Bucs — all the way to an 0-11 start and winless season.

Tommy Prothro had the Chargers at 5-9 the year before, but they started 0-11 en route to a 2-14 finish in 1975. Third-year quarterback Dan Fouts threw two touchdowns and 10 interceptions, going 2-7 in the process.
