The NFL released a statement on Thursday indicating the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans will be postponed indefinitely due to an outbreak of positive COVID-19 tests on the Titans. The Titans facility will remain closed and the team will continue to have no in-person activities until further notice. The most likely scenario for the game now if to have the Steelers and Ravens Week 8 matchup moved to Week 7 when both teams were to have their bye and then the Steelers and Titans will move to Week 7 when Tennessee has their bye week.

Two teams he doesn't expect to pursue him? The Braves and Astros.
Scott Harrington pulled off a rare feat at the Sanderson Farms Championship at the Country Club of Jackson on Thursday when he holed his second shot on the par-5 14th. Sadly, there's no video evidence to share of the moment. It's the first albatross (or is it called a double eagle?) at the Sanderson Farms since 2010 and just the second one on the PGA Tour this season (Harry Higgs, second round, ninth hole at Silverado's North Course at the Safeway Open).
The recent deaths of baseball greats Lou Brock, Tom Seaver and Al Kaline got Johnny Bench thinking about the future and the prospect of unloading memorabilia from his Hall of Fame career. Bench checked out items from Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully's recent online auction. ''You wonder, what is the best thing to do?'' Bench said by phone Thursday.
The similarly undefeated Chicago Bears had to make a mid-game quarterback switch to steal a win against the Falcons last weekend. The 0-3 Jets are terrible, but the 0-3 Texans might actually be good, and simply victims to a schedule that saw them face three of the best teams in football to start the season. With so much unknown about the league, it makes picking games against the spread that much more difficult and much more fun.
Not long into the third quarter, it was clear the Lakers were going to win Game 1 of the NBA Finals in a rout. The Lakers overwhelmed the Heat, Anthony Davis was dominant inside, then throw in a couple of Miami injuries and it was over in any way that mattered. Lakers' bench players were having fun with it but LeBron James snapped at them to get them focused, reports Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Harper, Johnson crack same joke about Sixers hiring Rivers originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia Doc Rivers is the Sixers' new head coach, a hire that generally received positive reviews from people around the league. But how is Rivers going to fit in within Philadelphia's sports landscape? If these two reactions from some of the city's top stars are any indication, he's going to get an insane amount of name-related jokes and puns while he's here.
The Green Bay Packers are suddenly razor-thin at the wide receiver position. While Davante Adams is close to a return from a hamstring injury, the Packers are losing ascending young receiver Allen Lazard, who – according to Adam Schefter of ESPN – had surgery on a core muscle injury and is out indefinitely. Lazard has been terrific as a secondary weapon to start 2020, catching 13 passes for a team-high 254 yards through the first three games.
Sure, there have been two ARCA races on the midwestern dirt miles for decades and a Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway for the past seven years, but the Cup Series is a completely different commitment. So why Bristol, why dirt, and why now? Bristol Motor Speedway has a capacity of 162,000, so even 38,000 seats sold has a way of looking awfully sparse, a topic that has increasingly come up over the past several years during the annual spring race.
Newton shares his perspective on Belichick-McDaniels dynamic originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston Who better than offer a window into one of the most interesting relationships in the NFL than Cam Newton? After signing with the Patriots in July, Newton has experienced head coach Bill Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels at a level only Tom Brady (and 2008 Matt Cassel) have before as New England's full-time starting quarterback. During his press conference Thursday, Newton shared his initial observations of McDaniels and Belichick after three months and used an interesting analogy to describe their dynamic.
Another week brings more injuries at MetLife Stadium. New York Jets wide receiver Lawrence Cager went down with a hamstring injury in the first half of their 37-28 loss to the Denver Broncos on “Thursday Night Football,” and fans couldn't help but blame the field once again — something that's been under intense scrutiny in recent weeks. San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert, who sprained his MCL on the field just weeks earlier, even called for the league to take action with defensive end Solomon Thomas agreeing.
Start 'Em or Sit 'Em is geared toward season-long leagues but can also be used for daily fantasy purposes. Start of the Week: Jared Goff vs. Giants -- Goff is enjoying a nice start to a potential rebound season. Goff has tossed multiple touchdowns in back-to-back games on the road against the Eagles and Bills in Weeks 2-3, posting the QB12 and QB5 days.
With three outs to go Thursday, and the Dodgers' first playoff series of the year to be won, Roberts went with the rookie option. Brusdar Graterol earned the save, and the Dodgers advanced to the National League division series with a 3-0 victory and two-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers. During the Dodgers' annual playoff runs from 2013-19, Jansen had 16 of the team's 17 postseason saves.
Rivera, offensive coaches met with Haskins this week to clear the air, per source originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera met with Dwayne Haskins this week to make clear the young quarterback understands he must show growth on the football field after a poor performance last week in Cleveland. Sources told NBC Sports Washington that during the meeting Rivera explained that while Haskins has a lot of talent and showed significant growth this offseason learning the playbook and in training camp, his play through three games has been lacking.

After the Astros swept the Twins, Correa had a message for the large group of baseball fans that despise the team that cheated on their way to the 2017 World Series title. People are mad,” Correa told reporters Wednesday.
Dominic Bozzelli made the cut at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship last weekend, marking the first time he's made a PGA Tour cut since January. One of the most talked-about aspects of the show was the way Jordan teased and sometimes berated teammate Scott Burrell, both for his play on the court and his behavior off the court. When Bozzelli, who hails from Rochester, N.Y., but played collegiately at Auburn, watched “The Last Dance,” he couldn't help but smile at Jordan's tough love tactics because he's seen it all a hundred times before.
Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman made official what seemed likely for most of the second half of the 2019-20 season: The team won't be re-signing goalie Jimmy Howard, an unrestricted free agent, after Howard won just two games in 27 tries, with a .882 save percentage and 4.20 goals-against average. The 36-year-old, who was drafted in the second round by the Wings (No. 64 overall) in 2003, leaves Detroit third in games played by a goalie for the franchise (543) and first in shots faced (15,313) and saves (13,970).
Carmelo Anthony had his ups and downs over his seven-season tenure with the Knicks, and his time at Madison Square Garden will forever be intertwined with that of Phil Jackson's. Jackson came on as team president in 2014, following Anthony's fourth season in New York. Speaking on The Old Man & The Three podcast on Thursday, Anthony went into detail about why the Jackson era didn't succeed, specially Jackson's attempted implementation of the triangle offense. "When Phil came, it was like, 'I'm going to do it the way I want to do it,'” Anthony said. 'I've got to bring in personnel that fit the system that I'm trying to run.
