Mets first baseman Pete Alonso arrived in New York three years ago to play for the Brooklyn Cyclones. Since then, he has witnessed the remnants and scars of 9/11. He describes the roller coaster of emotions visiting the 9/11 Memorial, where so many people were paying respects to their loved ones. Expressing his gratitude for the people that sacrificed their lives that day is why Saturday night's Mets-Yankees game is a special event for him. Alonso: 'It is going to be very emotional but for me, the biggest thing I can express is my gratitude and what an honor it is to play'. He also announced the release of a commemorative NFT, to benefit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
