Steady improvement resulting in wins for Dream (AP)

The Atlanta Dream have put their 0-17 start behind them, and are focusing on improving steadily through the rest of their inaugural season. After becoming the first team in WNBA history to open a season with 17 losses, the Dream won three of their next five games. And despite heading into the weekend on a three-game losing streak, Atlanta is keeping a positive outlook.

Crystal Kelly scored 15 points for the Monarchs, who held off the Atlanta Dream on Friday night for a 77-73 victory and moved into fourth place in the Western Conference where the top four teams make the playoffs.

Jia Perkins and Candice Dupree scored 18 points apiece to help the Chicago Sky snap a four-game losing streak with a 79-66 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday night. Chasity Melvin added 10 points, Tye'sha Fluker had eight, and K.B. Sharp and Armintie Price seven each for the Sky (6-13). Dupree also had four steals for Chicago, which had lost nine of 11 coming in.
