NEW YORK (TICKER) —The Seattle Storm were not content with their previous margin of victory over the New York Liberty.
Iziane Castro Marques scored a career-high 26 points off the bench and All-Star Lauren Jackson added 18 as the Storm posted a 91-54 triumph over the Liberty, who have dropped their last 10 contests.
Eight days ago in Seattle, the Storm handed the Liberty an 86-66 loss, as Jackson led the way with 26 points.
On Saturday, Seattle went on a 17-0 run in the first quarter to take control of the game and ended the period with a 30-8 cushion. Castro Marques kept her team comfortably ahead by making 10-of-12 shots, including three 3-pointers.
En route to snapping their three-game slide, the Storm built a 52-23 lead at the half and increased the margin to 40 points in the final quarter.
Erin Thorn was lone member of the Liberty in double figures with 19 points.
