The Obama administration cast the average monthly Medicare drug premium price increase as a matter of inches. It only rose $1 in the last three years. Florida and Georgia, two states where politicians oppose U.S. President Barack Obama's healthcare law, said that insurance rates for individuals would rise sharply in 2014, almost 200 percent in some cases under the reform. President Barack Obama is offering Republicans something they've wanted for a long time, a simpler corporate tax code, in exchange for more spending on programs to create jobs for the middle class. But Republicans are saying "no deal." They say the corporate and individual tax codes must be changed simultaneously to help certain small business owners.
