Mark F: What a coward this writer is...another Yahoo "reporter" in the tank for Ms. Clinton. I thought, for just a moment, that the article was going to offer a fair/balanced portrayal of both candidates issues when I saw "Follow the Money". I thought, this is where he will cover the revelations of the Clinton's using the State Department and Foundation to pad their personal bank accounts...nope. More liberal talking points, designed to bash Trump (who is a risk, granted) and gloss over Clinton (a liar and possibly, a criminal). Pitiful.
In the middle was Sundance, the one-named activist who oversees the Cleveland American Indian Movement, the group that has been protesting Cleveland’s Chief Wahoo logo and the Indians’ team name on every Opening Day for the past 46 years. The Indians being in the World Series inspired him to organize his first protest of the postseason, to get his message in front of a bigger, potentially international audience.
Singer Sevyn Streeter says the Philadelphia 76ers pulled her at the last minute from performing the national anthem at the team's season opener over a "We Matter" jersey. Sevyn posted a short video to Twitter talking about the incident at the match-up between the 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. "I'm at the 76ers game singing the National Anthem and the organization is telling me I can't because I'm wearing a 'We Matter' jersey," Sevyn said. The 76ers organization sent the following statement to Action News, a local ABC affiliate: The Philadelphia 76ers organization encourages meaningful actions to drive social change. We use our games to bring people together, to build trust and to strengthen
Cam Talbot had another strong game for the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night by stopping 34 of the 35 Washington Capitals shots he faced in a 4-1 win, improving his season save percentage to a robust .927. Along with backstopping the Oilers to their sixth win in seven games to open the season, the team’s best start since a guy by the name of Wayne Gretzky played for them, he was also involved in some rough stuff in the second period when he went old school on Capitals forward T.J. Oshie for charging into his crease and cross-checking him. Talbot’s response (as seen in the video above) was an attempt to feed Oshie his blocker pad. The end result of that exchange was Oshie getting a two-minute
In honor of the start of a new NBA season tonight, we're rounding up the best dressed basketball players in the game right now. Though some fashion-forward athletes like Kobe Bryant and Amar'e Stoudemire have recently hung up their jerseys, the are plenty
The 2017 rules for Xfinity state that a full-time Cup driver with five or more full seasons can race in no more than 10 Xfinity races. The races they can partake in are also limited. Out of the 33 planned Xfinity races next year, full-time Cup drivers cannot race in any of the seven Chase races, the regular season finale prior to the Chase, or the four ‘Dash for Cash’ races—which are yet to be announced.
According to multiple reports, Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes is expected to opt out of his three-year contract and become a free agent...Cespedes (52) tosses his bat after a home run at Citi Field. (Credit: Murray-USA TODAY Sports). Most Recent Updates & Reaction Cespedes will opt out, though he and the Mets continue to have an open dialogue about a new contract, MLB reporter Jon Heyman wrote Oct. 26. Nevertheless, just as they did a year ago, the Mets seem pretty convinced Cespedes will not be back, ESPN.com's Adam Rubin tweeted later in the night. Cespedes, who has two years and $47.5 million left on his current deal, is seeking a new, five-year contract, according to Rubin. Matthew Cerrone | Snapchat
Denver Broncos fans had DeMarcus Ware’s back. When news broke that Ware’s Super Bowl 50 ring was stolen as the Broncos played on “Monday Night Football” against the Houston Texans, Broncos fans went to work, spreading around pictures of the thieves on social media and calling in tips to police. By Wednesday, Ware’s ring was back.
The puck rolled to Shea Weber and everyone in Barclays Center knew what was coming next. In the process, he screened him, and Weber’s point blast on the power play at 17:03 gave the Habs the lead and eventually the win, 3-2, improving to 6-0-1 on the young season. “I’m maybe [surprised] at the point total,” said Montreal’s Paul Byron.
The Cubs will have one less dangerous bat in their lineup when the World Series shifts to Wrigley Field on Friday for Game 3, because Kyle Schwarber was not medically cleared to play the field and thus, won’t be in the starting lineup. Schwarber, whose amazing return from injury and subsequent success, has become the biggest individual story of this World Series. After a Game 2 performance in which he had two hits and two RBIs against the Cleveland Indians as the Cubs’ designated hitter, Chicago was clamoring to see whether Schwarber would defy the odds again and get the OK from doctors to allow his surgically reconstructed knee to patrol the outfield.
The NBA’s much-anticipated continuation of the NFL’s national anthem protests have so far been pretty tame. Philadelphia 76ers officials apparently wanted to avoid even the mild controversy drummed up by those incidents at their season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. Recording artist Sevyn Streeter was set to perform the national anthem, but she never made it out onto the court once the powers that be saw her “We Matter” t-shirt.
The Edmonton Oilers just keep on winning. Thanks to their 4-1 win over the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night, the Oilers are now 6-1-0 through their first seven games, have the best record in the Western Conference, and the second best record in the NHL behind only the Montreal Canadiens. To find the last time the Oilers won six of their first seven games, you have to go all the way back to the 1985-86 season when Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, and Paul Coffey still played for them and their dynasty was just starting to take shape. Their best start since then was a 5-1-1 start during the 2000-01 season. The recipe on Wednesday was similar to the one we have seen from the Oilers
Juan Mata scored the winning goal for Manchester United in the 54th minute. For an October game in the lamentably irrelevant League Cup, now for some reason renamed as the English Football League Cup, this one actually mattered. Because it was a Manchester derby, of course.

A proposed fight between Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping at UFC 206 was quickly shot down by GSP. For a moment, there appeared to be a light at the end of the tunnel in the ongoing battle between Georges St-Pierre and the UFC. After St-Pierre declared himself as a free agent, the UFC drew their line in the sand and stated that the former champion was still under contract.
The New York Rangers took a gamble today, placing defenseman Dylan McIlrath on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the AHL. While it wouldn’t be a surprise if McIlrath gets claimed, for GM Jeff Gorton and head coach Alain Vigneault, it was a decision that couldn’t be put off any longer. “Gorts and I and our staff had a long talk last night after the game, and we just felt that at this time, Dylan needed to play,” Vigneault said this morning. “We all appreciate him as a person, he’s done everything that has been expected of him, and more. But on our team right now, he’s our eighth defenseman, and keeping him here and not having him play and the money going against the cap…” Vigneault added
The first time the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills played each other this year, the most memorable highlight might have been a pregame skirmish. The Bills are promising more fireworks if the Patriots don’t show more respect for their pregame warmups. Football doesn’t have a ton of unwritten rules, but one is that you don’t run through the other team’s warmup drills before the game.
The Anaheim Ducks have finally signed their restricted free-agent defenseman – and, well, best defenseman – Hampus Lindholm to a six-year contract extension with an average annual value of $5.25 million, according to Bob McKenzie. Lindholm, 22, has played 236 NHL games and has 23 goals and 69 assists. Lindholm wasn’t eligible for salary arbitration, so playing hardball was the only effective tactic he and agent Claude Lemieux had.
Kyle Schwarber is a freak of nature, a hitter with the hand-eye coordination, explosiveness and guts to do what should be impossible. Now you know why the Cubs always believed Schwarber could help get them that championship parade down Michigan Avenue — and how the Cleveland Indians won’t just fade into history’s background as The Other Team. “No, not right now,” Schwarber said.
The Sixers like to point to their forward-thinking nature as a point of pride; they sing this tune with each new business venture they dip into, from eSports to their partnership with Stub Hub. Last night leads one to question whether they feel the same about how they grapple with issues facing the black community. We’re not breaking any news here -- singer Sevyn Streeter took to Twitter last night to relay a story about how she was all set to sing the anthem in front of a packed house in South Philadelphia. She was turned away by the organization when they spotted her wearing a jersey touting a simple message: “We Matter”. After catching some heat for the decision, the organization passively
In the last seven days, I've talked to a handful of Mets insiders, none of whom believe Tim Tebow will be with the team next spring in Port St. Lucie. I've heard several different reasons behind their thinking. But, in the end, everyone agreed that -- if he's still with the organization -- he's more likely to show up in St. Lucie when minor-league camp starts, as opposed to when big leaguers arrive in February. This is good news ... if you ask me. It's nothing against Tebow, who has every right to pursue a career in baseball. It's just, the Mets have real goals, and real business at hand, as they try to right their ship and get back to the World Series. I expect Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Noah
It’s bonus Manchester Derby Day thanks to the EFL Cup, and so many eyes will be trained on Old Trafford come 3 p.m. ET. There’s plenty at stake on the day, as both Manchester United and Manchester City have undergone a run of disappointing play in recent weeks. United was spanked 4-0 by Chelsea on Sunday, bringing their Premier League run to 1W-2D-1L over four games. City’s had it far worse, winless in five with a trio of draws in the mix. For those considering that this derby could take on any lesser feel, rest assured that longtime rival bosses Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will not be operating at full blast (even with rumors of youth-heavy teams on Wednesday). Here’s Guardiola, from Sky
Drag racing has been one of the biggest motorsport passions of my life. Ever since the first time I went to the now-defunct U.S. 30 Dragstrip in northwest Indiana – with the famous loud and echoing radio liner, “Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, at beautiful U.S. 30 Dragstrip, where the GREAT ONES Runnnnnnn!” – in the early 1970s, I’ve been a big fan of the quarter-mile. (By the way, for those in the Midwest who remember U.S. 30, which closed nearly 30 years ago, efforts are under way to bring it back. But I digress.) As a reporter, I’ve covered drag racing since the early 1980s. I still get as excited today following the sport as I did back then. But … and you probably figured a but was coming. While

A 26th straight playoff appearance? It seemed, when this season began, that not many were giving the Detroit Red Wings much of a chance to accomplish the feat. Time will tell. Despite their doubters, the Red Wings have now won five straight games, following a pretty uninspiring start with back-to-back losses in Florida to begin the season. Their latest win came Tuesday, as the Red Wings beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2. (For Carolina, that wraps up a six-game road trip to begin the season.) Dylan Larkin, who had 23 goals as a rookie in 2015-16, finally got his first two goals of this season, scoring twice against the Hurricanes. So far, 11 players on their roster have scored, with Darren Helm
