Scouting Report on Kevin Bryant

by Mike Farrell - 07/17/2006
Bryant is a monster of a man and his size overwhelms opponents. At 380 pounds, he’s not carrying much extra weight and he’s very well proportioned. He has long arms and surprisingly quick feet with an agility rarely found shown from a prospect so big. Bryant is very strong as would be expected and plays very physical. He projects as an offensive guard at the next level, although his footwork is solid as a tackle. He lumbers a bit and doesn’t have great straightline speed, but he keeps his feet in traffic and can get to the second level consistently. His technique in run blocking is not very well developed because his size and strength advantage allows him to toss defensive linemen around, but his pass protection ability is impressive. He gets out of his stance well for a big man, extends his arms and either forces opponents wide or swallows them up. Bryant is very raw as a prospect but his ceiling is high. He has the potential to be a very good road-grading interior lineman.
