Hurricane-turned-Tropical Storm Irene forced the rescheduling, postponement or cancellation of numerous sporting events.

• Atlanta Braves at New York Mets: Sunday game rescheduled for Saturday; Saturday doubleheader postponed. Doubleheader rescheduled for Sept. 8, 4:10 p.m. ET.

• Florida Marlins at Philadelphia Phillies: Sunday game rescheduled for Saturday; Saturday doubleheader postponed. Doubleheader rescheduled for Sept. 15, 2:35 & 7:35 ET.

• New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles: Saturday day-night doubleheader postponed. Doubleheader rescheduled for Sunday, 1:35 & 7:35 ET; makeup game rescheduled for Sept. 8.

• Oakland Athletics at Boston Red Sox: Sunday game rescheduled to Saturday day-night doubleheader; both games completed despite delays during both games.

Little League World Series

• Championship game at Williamsport, Pa., between Huntington Beach (Calif.) and Hamamatsu City (Japan) postponed from noon Sunday to 3:30 p.m. Sunday (ABC).

• Consolation game between Billings (Mont.) and Mexicali (Mexico), scheduled for 11 a.m. ET, canceled.

NFL

• New York Jets at New York Giants: Game rescheduled from 7 p.m. ET Saturday to 2 p.m. ET Saturday, then postponed to 7 p.m. ET Monday (NFL Network).

Golf

• The Barclays in Edison, N.J.: Sunday round canceled. Saturday start times moved up to ensure 54-hole completion.

• Canadian Women's Open in Mirabel, Quebec: Sunday start time moved up to 7 a.m. ET, with threesomes teeing off at holes No. 1 and No. 10. Play completed in the rain.

Tennis

• U.S. Open at Flushing, N.Y.: Arthur Ashe Kids Day canceled Sunday. Qualifying matches rescheduled but completed.

Main draw play still scheduled to begin 11 a.m. ET Monday, although the first match on Arthur Ashe Stadium was pushed back to 1 p.m. ET.

• New Haven Open in New Haven, Conn.: Start time of Saturday final moved up. Match completed despite 1-hour, 40-minute interruption.

MLS

• Portland Timbers at D.C. United: Start time moved up from 7:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET Saturday, then postponed until a date to be announced this week.

• New England Revolution at Philadelphia Union: Sunday game rescheduled for Sept. 7, 8 p.m. ET (Galavision).

• Los Angeles Galaxy at New York Red Bulls: Sunday game rescheduled for Oct. 4, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2).
