Alec Baldwin Joins Other Male Celebrities Who Practice Yoga

Many male celebrities practice yoga for their own reasons. Regardless of their reason behind practicing yoga, they are doing something good for their mind, body and soul by participating in poses.

The newest male celebrity to participate in yoga is Alec Baldwin. Baldwin recently became engaged to Hilaria Thomas, a yoga instructor. While Baldwin seems to be committed to his fiance, he is having a harder time committing to yoga even though his friends say that both yoga and Thomas are responsible for helping him with his weight and his temper. Hopefully Baldwin will stick to yoga, and I have a feeling that if he sticks with Thomas he will be motivated to continue in the practice.

Other male celebrities are more dedicated to yoga and have been participating for some time.

Robert Downey Jr.

Actor and movie producer, Robert Downey Jr. participates in yoga and says, "You can get on the right side of the tracks, and you now are actually working with what some people would call magic. Actually it's just yoga."

Prince Harry

Prince Harry is brother to Prince William, Britain's future king. Prince Harry states, "Yoga is the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life. I'm addicted, I want to do it every day."

Matthew McConaughey

Native Texan, actor and movie producer, Matthew McConaughey says, "Real men do Yoga." McConaughey insists that regularly participating in yoga is responsible for allowing him to keep his lean muscle.

Robbie Williams

Musician and actor, Robbie Williams may look tough on the outside with his muscular arms displaying tattoos, but on the inside Williams struggles with anxiety and stage fright which is why he participates in Bikram (hot) yoga and meditation.

Sting

Sting is a musician that has been around since the 1980s. At the age of 59, Sting has now been enjoying yoga for 20 years. He says, "I practice yoga for 45 minutes to an hour-and-a-half every day, wherever I am. Yoga is the best holistic workout and body toner there is. It sorts out a chaotic mind and calms the body—it is how I de-stress, or stop myself getting stressed in the first place.

Why not join these celebs by participating in yoga. You will gain muscle mass, de-stress and feel great. Remember, real men do yoga. It is not just for women. Start with some simple asanas (yoga poses) and work your way up.
