Yahoo! Contributor NetworkJake “The Snake” Roberts Most Embarrassing Moments
Popular 80s wrestler Jake "The Snake" Roberts recently did an interview with the "Busted Open" radio program. Roberts fumbled on many topics, including his exclusion from the WWE Hall of Fame. Though he was unable to give concrete evidence why he hasn't been included thus far, Roberts admits he is more deserving than some of the current members. As a wrestling devotee for over 20 years, I agree that Jake "The Snake" Roberts is more worthy to be in the WWE Hall of Fame than Koko B. Ware and Drew Carey. However, Jake "The Snake" Roberts comes with a lot of baggage. Roberts has a lengthy history of drug and alcohol abuse. Since his last WWE wrestling match, Roberts has gotten himself into a wealth of embarrassing situations. Circumstances that may be keeping the WWE from honoring him. Here are Jake "The Snake" Roberts most embarrassing moments.

Heroes of Wrestling
The Heroes of Wrestling pay per view took place on October 10th 1999. The one time pay per view featured several former WWE and WCW stars, including Jake "The Snake" Roberts. During the event, Roberts was interviewed by the backstage reporter. Roberts then went on to cut a promo that made no sense whatsoever. The blubbering and slurring Roberts stumbled through his words, totally reversing years of great memories. Even worse, when Jake was in front of the wrestling connoisseurs, he took his snake and put the reptile between his legs and began to make lewd and sexual gestures to the audience. It would have been comical if it weren't so sad.
Beyond The Mat
1999 was not a favorable year for the "Snake" man. Hollywood came knocking at Jake's door looking for him to help lift the curtain on professional wrestling. Roberts starred in the film "Beyond the Mat" But unlike Mick Foley, who was seen in a more positive light, the feature film spotlighted Roberts dependency on drugs. Jake was open and honest throughout his interview, admitting his drug use and owning up to his demons. But rather than give the producer the story of a substance abuser overcoming his addictions, Jake got high in the course of the filming and quit without notice. He was unable to obtain the satisfying ending.
Wrestling Drunk
In May 2008, the revered wrestler finalized rehab. Several months later, he relapsed once again. At an independent wrestling show in September 2008 , Jake "the Snake" Roberts collapsed in the ring while wrestling JT Lightning. Roberts was too drunk to continue and laid in the ring before he was led away by security. Instead of admitting he fell off the wagon , Roberts claimed the promoters drugged him.
Unfortunately for Jake "The Snake" Roberts, life has handed him a bag full of lemons. He is the perfect example of how fame and fortune does not equal happiness and prosperity. But unlike many of his fellow 80s stars, Roberts is still alive and breathing. And with everyday comes a new chance of change and redemption. There is no doubt Jake "The Snake" Roberts deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The question is whether he will live to accept the induction.
