Top Apps for Dieting and Weight Loss

Trying to lose weight and stay fit can be a stressful time. Let's face it—“diet,” for many, is a naughty four-letter word. Many will try joining clubs or hiring a personal trainer but not everyone can afford or wants to do that. With today's technology however, having the benefits of a club or a personal trainer can literally be right at your fingertips with the use of the many different weight loss and dieting apps available. These are a few of the top apps I have used to help me follow a more healthy way of living.

SparkPeople

SparkPeople is the largest diet and fitness site in America and offers free weight loss and dieting help. Online it offers the ability to track your calories, fitness goals and track your progress. There is an amazing community of people who you can share your weight loss journey with. Many groups offer online challenges and can actually make dieting fun. I used this program years ago and was very happy with the help it gave me. Well, SparkPeople also has a free mobile app that does just about the same thing. Track your food and fitness through your phone and find healthy recipes on the go.

Nike Training Club

If you are looking for an app that will work as your own personal trainer, the Nike Training Club app is the perfect one. This app includes 85 different custom-built workouts including 30-45 minute full workouts and 15 minute targeted workouts. These exercises are designed to help you buil lean muscle and tone your body. As you progress through the exercises, you can unlock special workouts brought to you by top celebrities and athletes.

Good Food Near You

If you have a busy schedule that finds you on the road most days then the Good Food Near You is the perfect app to help you make sure you are making healthy eating choices. This app uses GPS to find your location and the restaurants near you. It then looks at the meals these restaurants server and shows you the best menu items based on lowest calories, lowest carbs or lowest fats.

WaterWorks

Do you have trouble keeping track of how much water you are drinking every day? Do you find it hard to make sure you drink the recommended amounts of water? If this is the case, then the WaterWorks app is perfect for you. Change the settings to fit the size water bottle you drink and it will keep track of your daily water intake and track your progress.
