Converse to Launch Latest Collections of Skate Shoes in February 2012
Skate shoes are undoubtedly an important part of a skater's ensemble. Therefore, announcements like the one made on January 18, 2012, by Nike, Inc. are generally met with excitement. The company is planning on releasing several collections of skate shoes under the Converse brand for spring 2012. Here are a few more details:
About the Skate Ambassador Collection
Pro skaters Nick Trapasso, Anthony Pappalardo and Kenny Anderson will each have shoes released on February 1st, 2012 as part of the Converse Skate Ambassador Collection. The announcement comes on the heels of news that Trapasso has started his own company, Life Extension Skateboards, with cohort Patrick Pasquale. The pair are partnering with Blitz Distribution on the venture. No word yet on whether or not Trapasso's upcoming shoes with Converse will be available through Life Extension Skateboards or Blitz Distribution.
Trapasso's signature shoe is called the CONS Trapasso Pro and it will feature a multi-density sock liner and full memory foam collar that are designed to conform to the skater's feet. Trapasso fans will have a choice of suede or leather materials as well as two color combinations, black and white or gray and cranberry. Pappalardo's model, the CONS Pappalardo Pro, is a throwback to the 1970s and come in either canvas or suede. The CONS Pappalardo Pro will come in two color combinations, brown and black or gray and red. Anderson's skate shoes, the KA-ONE, also incorporate 1970s design elements and will come in suede or leather. In addition, fans will have more color combinations to choose from with the KA-One. The shoes are said to come in black and red, red and parchment, parchment and white, black and white as well as black and parchment.
About the Other Skate Shoes
The Converse Skate Ambassador Collection is not the only skate shoes collection expected to launch in February. The company is also releasing the Form + Function Collection. The Form + Function Collection is said to encompass four different styles of skate shoes, the CT LS, the ELM LS, the Sea Star LS and the CVO LS. Prices of each are predicted to fall in the $50 to $60 range and come in suede, canvas and leather. Design elements from previous decades of skate shoes will be incorporated into each. Both the ELM LS and the Sea Star LS borrow styling from classic boat shoes and are expected to be hot sellers.
