DB Waters discusses latest in his recruitment
It’s been months since Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha safety Lorenzo Waters addressed his recruitment. The 6-foot-1, 197-pounder is starting to address visits and claims to have one in mind so far.
“I do think myself, Shane Johnson, Arie Kouandjio and Mike Coley are all taking a visit to California together sometime after the season,” he said. “I guess I just have to wait and see on the visit. I’ve been getting some good reviews about California from Arie though.”
Waters maintains to be wide open otherwise.
“I have a little idea about who I like just based on watching games on TV,” he stated. “Other than Wake Forest, I have not really looked too much into any school seriously.
“I like Wake Forest. I’ve looked at them because I’ve been there three times, mainly because my sister lives about 15 minutes away from there.”
The No. 14 prospect in Maryland is still focused on the season and a big matchup coming this week.
“We are moving into the tenth week of the season and getting ready to play Bishop McNamara for the No. 1 seed in the playoffs,” he said. “I guess I’m playing well. Our defensive line has been so dominant that it is kind of hard to have any outrageous statistics from the safety spot when the running back is down by the time I get there.
“I have improved though, more so mentally than anything else. As a senior, this is my third year on varsity. Seeing much of the same thing over the years I’ve been able to adapt to the speed of the game which has helped me out a lot.”
