cash games are real poker
yes u need skill in tournament poker, but the luck factor in tournament fields this size is about 95% or greater to even cash out win a hefty profit
tournament poker is fun and all, but it doesnt mean any of these winners are that great, there has to be a winner, thats the point of a tournament...someone is going to win, no matter how good or bad they are
i would like to see all these people who buy in, play a cash game with that $10,000 and see just how timid they are when survival isnt a factor at all
cash games are how the so called "sport" began and is really how it shoudl be played, the world series of poker is a mockery of the game but you know what, its where the money is isnt it??? so i guess its not a bad idea to play especailly when all you have to do is get really lucky, play pretty well, avoid bad beats, and play 12 hrs a day for one week, 1.2 million to $8.5 million aint a bad payday
congratulations to the young man, but the winner could be anyone over 21 and over...my point...the dumbest mf u know could win this thing and would be crowned "world champion" and that to me is a crock of @#$%.
if i won, i would say thank you for all your donations to my retirement you patheic fools who literally wasted $10,000..........

and yes, luck is a big part of the game. sometimes bad luck over rides skills and vice versa. and yes, Yahoo should have used some freaking common sense and not spoiled it for those who want to watch it...bit think about why yahoo usurped ESPN...it simply makes sense for Yahoo to ride the ESPN/WSOP train to promote itself. without much work, it increased traffic by simply announcing the winner.

There is my entire night of TIVO down the drain. It's not like they aired it already and I was saving the program and it's my fault. The program hasn't even aired.
Seriously you guys dropped the ball on this one.
