No, the elephant wasn't a Christmas gift from Rory McIlroy to Caroline Wozniacki. The defending US Open golf champion's main present to his top-ranked girlfriend was spending time with her in Thailand prior to an exhibition match she had against Victoria Azarenka.
The two lovebirds were unable to spend Christmas together but rendezvoused for New Year's, where they awkwardly dodged questions about an engagement and spoke about the gifts they exchanged.
Wozniacki was wearing one of her gifts, a red locket with the design of the flag of her native Denmark. (At least, that's my theory as to what it is.)
"I also got a watch, a frame with a picture inside, I got speakers and I got these [she pointed to her earrings]," Wozniacki said, according to a Thai newspaper. "So I'm spoiled now."
Wozniacki, who has made $11 million in her career, got her man a necklace and some T-shirts. She got jewelry and a frame with a picture inside, and all she could spring for were some undershirts? I at least hope that the set up their trip to the shore:
