Novak Djokovic took part in a charity soccer game in Belgrade this week, assuaging concerns that his injured back would force him to miss a significant chunk of the fall tennis schedule.
The world No. 1 pulled out of a Davis Cup tie earlier this month after winning the U.S. Open. He had targeted a return to tennis next week at the China Open in Beijing, a goal which looks more likely given his fluid movements on the pitch.
Djokovic played for the women's Red Star soccer team in the charity game, which raised money that will go toward the purchase of incubators for hospitals across Serbia. Novak and the ladies defeated the crew of a Serbian film 4-2. He scored a goal and totally won that foot race with the dude in the weirdly tight jersey (below right).
