SYDNEY, Oct 29 (Reuters) - World number four Caroline Wozniacki has been confirmed as the fourth top-10 women’s player to use the Sydney International tournament as final preparation for next year’s Australian Open, organisers said on Thursday.

Wozniacki, who made the U.S. Open final in September, will join Serena Williams, Elena Dementieva and Victoria Azarenka for the Jan. 10-16 event, which is one of the traditional tournaments players use to fine tune for the year’s first grand slam.

“I am really looking forward to coming back to Sydney. I played some great tennis there earlier this year and it provided me with a lot of confidence because it gave me a great start to the season,” the 19-year-old Dane said in a statement.
