Stephanie Dubois wins in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP)—Stephanie Dubois became the first Canadian woman to win the Odlum Brown VanOpen, beating top-seeded Sania Mirza of India 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Sunday.

The second-seeded Dubois, from Laval, Quebec, lost to Britain’s Anne Keothavong in the 2007 VanOpen final.

In the men’s final, third-seeded Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus beat Belgium’s Xavier Malisse 6-4, 6-4.

    Its nice to have Maria back,she promised so much but,like Martina Navratilova,I hope the authorities would do something about those grunts,so unladylike!!!Especially now there are talks of Hingis also coming back. Welcome back to Kim,seems she just picked up from where she left off !!

    Congratulations to Stephanie Dubois!! Great job, kid!

    Now, I can't believe that Baghdatis and Malisse are playing in Challengers!! What ??
    I like them both but aren't they past playing Challengers?
    Oh well... perhaps they needed a couple of extra points to get into the main draw somewhere...

    Once again, it's great to see that little Stephanie with a huge heart and fighting spirit winning the Vancouver tournament.

    A person from Cyprus is usually a Cypriot! Most English holy books the bible will have reference to the new testament writings referring to the account of - a Cyprus citizen as a Cypriot
