Tsonga wins Japan Open
TOKYO (AP)—Second-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won the Japan Open on Saturday for his third ATP Tour title of the year, overpowering Mikhail Youzhny 6-3, 6-3.
The seventh-ranked Frenchman, also a winner this in Johannesburg and Marseille, had 11 aces in the match that took only 1 hour, 9 minutes.
“Today, I played perfect, just like yesterday,” Tsonga said. “When I play like that it is tough for my opponent to win.”
On Saturday in the semifinals, he beat Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-3.
Top-ranked Roger Federer pulled out of the $1.2 million event, citing fatigue, and third-ranked Andy Murray withdrew because of a wrist injury.
Top-seeded Juan Martin Del Potro was knocked out in the first round.

i didn't mean to chap you at all. if you feel offended, i'll send you my apology here.
actually i just hoped to tell you something that had happened to me. as you know, i'm a
very ordinary person who often says & does something wrong. as a matter of fact, i just wish to read
good comments on tennis written by a lot of intelligent persons who have plenty of experience in
this wonderful sport. however, a lot of frightening comments showed up on this board, i really feel
sad for this tennis board, in which we readers are supposed to be able to get enlightened by so many excellent analysis of the players, matches as well as what might happen in the future. hopefully this board will go back normal, letting all the reader share & enjoy what we should have.

no wonder i haven't seen your post. great!!!!!!! that means you've decided to leave something alone. eventually i think i can read your marvelous comments on TENNIS again. come on! show us your knowledge & intelligence.
once when i've read your conclusion: anything can happen, it made me think about the situation rafa got through in fo & what kim experienced in uso, i decided not to make prediction anymore, because it would be totally different from what one expects. certainly, if for fun or keeping the topic vivid, that's pretty much interesting & joyful; otherwise, ................. do you think so?

I have wondered that (about NW) a LOT..as I quite obviously have a vested interest & and probably am not an impartial poster either, although I do "try" to stay equatable. Huge difference, yes?
Just really puzzling~the entire scenario.
Watching some "Live scoring" again last night, but fell asleep and my husband says I'm burning the candle at both ends, but it's better than just pacing & waiting for the "call" which should be any day now.
Truth, how IS Venus doing??? Don't read (find) as much about her. I'm hoping she's taking good care and healing, she was another one of the "year's end" wounded warriors..Get better Venus :-)

Nadal is playing in Beijing. Del Potro lost in Tokyo. Not sure what your logic is.

All I can say is you guys sure provide some good reading entertainment during my break. Could we get back to tennis please.
Congratulations to Serena being #1. She is, in my opinion, the best woman tennis player currently. Hopefully Safina will become mentally stronger and win that slam one of these days.

I am not going to share with you my real personal life and quite frankly you come across very skittish on these blogs. Oh, you can have decent conversations about tennis but then you a switch goes off and you become this fiend that will not leave people alone. You have been asked to stop but you don't. And whatever name you want to call me, feel free. Names don't bother me. Hypocrisy and deceptive people do. And you are one of them.
So pull the wool over people's eyes all you want. You are starved for attention. Short Dodgers party..hmm...hate to inform you the Yankee or the Red Sox are going all the way. You are no worse then Barry because you write your rants over and over. I will not be civil with you bottom boy. And if you think you are outplaying me...think about the conversation you had with the woman with the three children. That one was so hilarious. It is fun to create characters because I know what a little sheep you are. Just ask yourself...who is playing who? I think that is why carry on so much because you are a control freak.
p.s. poor Serena she barely got by another lowly player in the first round of the China Open.

I'll clear out for a few days (although I will SORELY miss reading posts from Truthsayer, Paco, Karen, Pete'sbest14, Delores, Johnp (JOHNP IS SO AWESOME!!!), KM and from others) and see what happens here. Besides...my Colts are 4-0 and my Dodgers have won the NL WEST DIVISION CROWN AND HAVE EARNED HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE THROUGHOUT THE NL PLAYOFFS!!! WHOO-HOO!!!
Hopefully, you will be able to do what I couldn't do with my Ball Peen Hammer; clear this board from racist diatribes, psychotic liars and hate mongerers.
Let's see if others are willing to smoke the peace pipe as well... :-)

i'd like to tell you the truth. actually both nightwing & me have discussed or argued several issues of tennis online before, although there were some differences between us, in my opinion, his knowledge of tennis is marvelous & convincing. it doesn't seem that something unhappy has happened to me, or he would attack me by using what i've said. that's because we are talking about tennis under the condition of mutual respect & understanding. certainly we agree to disagree. as regards the subsequent complicated situation which showed up in front of all the readers, what i can say is terrible, incredible. as far as i know, someone are really 'well up' in cursing, writing dirty language or sending out the comments full of invective. i was astonished to know why they have no respect for others. i do believe all the guys writing comments here are mature grown adults with higher education, but doing things like under-educated little kids do, even worse than them. why???? i can hardly figure it out. maybe politeness & mutual respect are totally forgotten, even one's noble status, dignity & postition have been tangibly/intangibly or intentionally/unintentionally put aside too. that would be a huge miserable thing in mankind.
