Rezai wins Tournament of Champions final

NUSA DUA, Indonesia (AP)—Aravane Rezai has won the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions after top-seeded Marion Bartoli retired from the final with a thigh injury after losing the first set 7-5.

Bartoli was up 4-2 on Sunday and then had a set point in the ninth game before the 44th-ranked Rezai broke back to level at 5-5.

Bartoli then needed medical treatment on her left thigh in the 12th game. She continued to play but double-faulted to hand Rezai the set and then retired.

It was Rezai’s second title of the year after winning in Strasbourg.

Excellent job by Arghavane! Hopefully she can break into the top 20 next year.
Just a bit of physical tuning will be the key.

Go for it Marion Bartoli. You can win the title without drugs. Never entertain the idea that power-enhancing potions can win you honors. Taking drugs is self-destructive. It erodes the value of self-esteem. You can do it without such!

Bartoli should consider some crystal meth...lose about 25 lbs, and then she can get to those double handed shots off both wings better.

Of course, watching her serve will still drive me batty, and there's still the problem with her mouth overestimating her ability and importance to the game.

    #6 Benji

Yes she is and I was certainly pulling for her, but she's made her presence in tennis known again so she'll continue to do well!!
Kudos to her for her hard work and resolve after all the years she was away from tennis~amazing :-)

Well, my pics are history..lol............Only cheaters left...........Bartoli and her 1000 medical time outs, Wickmayer, okay, she LOOKED suspicious, but NOT confirmed a cheater..........as of yet...............and Aussie Open cheater, Stosur?................I don't care who wins this one since they are less than noble in terms of rules...............play on players.
