Post 65 is well spoken. I notice, though, that the tennis tv commentators sometimes don't seem to take him seriously and make questionable remarks about him (he's only interested in money, etc. ). Yet he is an amazingly solid player. It is baffling how much attention is given to some players, and how little to others.

Nikolay Davidenko is one of the most solid tennis players in the world. Quiet and solid as a rock. With a lot of character and mental strength. Not everybody can withstand absolutely baseless allegation of cheating, and consequently almost a year of media hystery, and came out as strong as he did. Congratulations to him! Even though I don't think that he ever will win Grand Slam (I hope, I'm wrong), he is one of the most consistent players for past 5+ years

Mark b(48)...Thanks for the post and your concern. The problem with self responsibility is the SELF. Left on its own, self has no responsibility to anyone except to self. Where does self get the information to be grounded in a positive foundation that recognizes others in the culture and how relationships should be governed? How does self make moral choices without a foundation? How does self make plans for the future without faith that those plans will come to fruition? It is the inability of self to make decisions for the common good that requires men to have a need for written laws. Does not TENNIS have rules to govern behavior and set standards? Why do you think that is? Have you not seen all of the different opinions, each believeing that they are correct in their own eyes?

There is quite a collection of strange and out of it losers posting here. Never quite understood how someone would allow religion to control their life rather than self responsibility. Weak character. Reminds me of some street people I see ranting passages from the Bible thinking they are chosen for that purpose. Just nuts. I can't believe people actually buy into that business. I love tennis and the people posting here need to crawl back under their rock and leave their religion to themselves or to someone like them who wants to discuss it.

Hewitt's racist remarks turned me against him; and I couldn't help but think that Kim made an EXCELLENT choice in breaking off their engagement (I'd also read that he unceremoniously "dumped" her, which enraged me at the time). Kim, of course, is much too classy to actually reveal what went on, but Hewitt perhaps lets his boorish actions speak for themselves.

He's a fighter, and a multiple grand slam winner; he should rightly be recognized for his great career. After the Blake incident and his broken engagement with Kim, however, I know that I will never be one of his fans.
