Pollard beats McNamee in Tennis Australia vote

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP)—Tennis Australia president Geoff Pollard has retained his position after fending off a challenge from former Australian Open tournament director Paul McNamee.

The secret vote Monday involving Tennis Australia’s 16 state and territory delegates was the first time Pollard had faced a challenge to his leadership since he succeeded Brian Tobin in 1989. He said following the vote that this year would be his last in the post.

McNamee, who had been supported by the country’s leading tennis player, Lleyton Hewitt, had criticized Tennis Australia’s administration, including its performance on player development and declining player registrations.

a bYtch slam at none other than LLeyton Hewitt!

your CRONY failed to steal votes Lleyton

you got your surface change now ENOUGH!

ain't nothing wrong with the Australian Federation because they are spending an insane amount of $ to hire Europeans(French and Spaniard) coaches and building real clay courts to learn their kids how to slide
    drop shot
    use a 1 backhand slice
hit not only drive volleys but conventional volleys and learn how to construct points

play well on ALL surfaces unlike YOU LLeyton who cannot play on clay or

Guccionne who can't play on anything but hard courts;reminds you of James Blake and Mardy Fish;John Isner and Sam Querrey

Australian players are the problem not the leadership!
