Ronaldo expects to return to training this week

MADRID, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo expects he will have recovered sufficiently from an ankle injury to be able to return to training by the middle of this week.

“The most important thing for me is to return when I am at 100 percent,” the Portuguese international said in an interview published in Monday’s As newspaper.

“Let’s see what happens but around the middle of this week I am confident I will already be working with my team mates.

“This week I will have another test to see if I am fit but the recovery is well on track.”

Ronaldo was injured in late September and aggravated the problem in Portugal’s 3-0 win over Hungary 10 days later. He has not played since but could return for second-placed Real’s La Liga match against Racing Santander on Saturday.

What a waste of $131 million! Seriously why pay all that money for the "best" player? Madrid's just paying his wages for him to buy cars and eat tapas. STUPID!

I can't wait to see how CRap9 plays when he gets back. Sure he was on fire before he got injured, but we'll just see if this loser is worth all the hype. Pathetic...

He'll be out atleast 3-4 months! Ankle injuries are the worst to recover from.

Yep, Ronaldo spend most of his $ on super models and super cars, that probably boost the cosmetic and automobil industry, ha ha! Does any 1 know where Kaka spend his $, and boost up which industry?

I love this bit of economic BS,
"Real director general Jorge Valdano was quoted as saying on Tuesday that spending large amounts on top players was in line with the economic theory that you have to invest to kickstart a struggling economy.

“That’s exacly what we are doing and engaging in a moral debate is missing the point,” Valdano told news agency Efe."

Hello?? Unemployment in Spain is almost at 20% and spending huge money for football players helps the Spanish economy how? By spending millions of Euros in 2 other countrys? You certainly helped those economys but did nothing for Spains. Unless you call building an expensive football club helpful. I hope the people in Spain and around the world see what a ridiculous statement that is from this clown.
