Nations Cup hosts Angola extend unbeaten run

LUANDA, Nov 14 (Reuters) - African Nations Cup hosts Angola extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a 1-1 draw against Congo in a friendly on Saturday.

Flavio handed Angola a 12th-minute lead before Congo equalised in stoppage time through Ladislas Douniama.

It was the first home game in more than a year for Angola, who hosted matches in Portugal while a new stadium was being constructed in Luanda.

Plans to inaugurate the stadium this weekend were postponed because it was not ready and Angola were forced to return to the run-down Cidadela Stadium for Saturday’s international.

The Nations Cup will be played in January.
