Fenerbahce Striker Dani Guiza: I Am Going Home, Turkey Was A Mistake
Dani Guiza has revealed that he is ready to take up one of the offers to return to Spain, stating that moving to Turkish football was a mistake.
The 29-year-old striker joined Fenerbahce last year, but he has endured an inconsistent time in front of goal and now he wants to return home.
Having impressed during the 2007-08 campaign with Real Mallorca, Guiza was linked to several major clubs, including Liverpool, but instead chose to follow Luis Aragones to Fenerbahce.
Maintaining his place in the Spain national squad, the former Barcelona B forward was relatively happy, but his form has seen Alvaro Negredo leapfrog him at international level.
Now he wants to return to la Primera Division and could have upset Fener supporters by stating that his decision to move to Turkish football was the wrong one.
"I've decided to go home. I am not happy in Turkey and it was a mistake to come here," he was quoted as saying by Turkiye.
"I have received offers from some clubs, but my desire is to return to Spain to continue my career."
