Americans On The Continent: Back to Winning Ways

Carlos Bocanegra and Rennes were able to secure all three points against Le Mans thanks to goals from Senegalese defender Abdou Kader Mangane and Ghanaian forward Asamoah Gyan in the 10th and 81st minutes, respectively.

Despite being rested for the match, Bocanegra was forced to make a 21st minute appearance due to an injury to Mangane.  With the return to form, Rennes sits in 10th place in Ligue 1 and will hope to improve their position when they face third-place Lyon on Sunday.

Steve Cherundolo, Hannover 96 (Germany)
Away to Schalke 04, 0-2, Did Not Play

Schalke’s Jermaine Jones is still recovering from his broken leg and played no part in the 2-0 victory over Hannover 96.

Kenny Cooper sat out of 1860’s 1-0 win over league-leading Arminia Bielefeld with a knee injury.

David Yelldell kept a clean sheet for TuS Koblenz as they beat Alemannia Aachen 1-0 at home.

Matt Taylor did not see the pitch as FSV Frankfurt grabbed only their second win of the season, winning 3-1 over Oberhausen.

Coming off his match-winning performance against FC Copenhagen before the international break, Aalborg’s Marcus Tracy will look to start against Benny Feilhaber and Jeremiah White’s AGF Aarhus side tonight.

Michael Parkhurst played the entire 90 minutes as FC Nordsjaelland beat Koge 2-1.

the reason alot of US players didn't play this last week was due to the performance they gave against T&T. we have the imagination of rock in the midfield. hope it all gets better because at this point it's 3 and done!

Well, there is only one continent over there, and it's called Europe. The last I checked, England was in Europe.

"Just another european being a wanker...noticw how he didn't mention Jozy...after all he assisted in his teams win!"

Perhaps you could look at the title of the article again and realise the only wanker is you for not understanding that on the continent does not mean in England too.

I didn't like the fact that Jozy left NY for Europe, but I think he'll do great, and he'll continue getting better. Hopefully, he'll develop quickly, and get on w/ a top 10 side over there.

FC Dallas*, let's be an accurate journalist. I hope to see the US call up Kenny Cooper to the squad. He performed well in the confederation cup as a sub, with this experience, he'll be more ready.

Whoever wrote this must not be in touch with American soccer. Kenny Cooper never played for the "Dallas Burn". The Dallas team changed their name to FC Dallas in 2005 and Kenny signed with the team in 2006.

It's fantastic see American's playing and scoring and most important starting in europe. I'm hoping and praying that the US federation realize's that they have a gold mine in there hands. Yes, I'm talking about our youth soccer players. Unfortunetly i know the US Federation is not putting enough attention too our 10 year olds to 13 years. I belive our chances to win a World Cup isn't to far. Europe has been doing it forever, the results speak for themselves. I hope someone out there with a little pull or lot can speak out to the powers that run the US federation(Sunil). See you in the soccer field. Just an ex- pro soccer player looking out for your kid and mine.
