Rubin Kazan Will Open Up Against Barcelona - Captain Sergei Semak

Rubin Kazan captain Sergei Semak believes that his team can afford to open up against Barcelona on Tuesday evening, despite describing them as the "best team in the world".

The hosts' midfielder was delighted with the counterattacking performance in Camp Nou that saw his team record the surprise result of the season, but he now hopes for the same outcome with a different style.

"Barcelona are still the best team in the world and favourites to win our group; no doubt about that," Semak was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.

"At home, we should be able to play a different game to the one in Barcelona and open things up.

"They will be under some pressure because a second loss in a row would make their lives more difficult, but it is in their hands and I do not doubt they will qualify."

Semak believes that along with Rubin's result in Barcelona, the fact that Pep Guardiola's side and Inter have not raced clear at the top of the group is also a surprise.

"Most thought the top two places were already booked, but the group turned out to be very interesting and every team has a chance of going through," he continued.

"If we have luck on our side, we can make it. This is a big test for us, but the way to develop is to be able to play at this level every year."
