Report: Napoli Star Walter Gargano A Major Doubt For Uruguay-Costa Rica
Uruguay midfielder Walter Gargano could be ruled out of the upcoming two-legged World Cup play-off with Costa Rica after limping off with a knee strain during Napoli’s 0-0 draw with Catania, according to Napoli 24.
The 25-year-old limped off just 33 minutes into the first half of the Stadio Massimino clash.
Gargano had been named in Oscar Tabarez’s squad for the crunch tie with Costa Rica where a spot for next summer’s World Cup finals will be at stake.
It is still unclear whether the former Danubio man will nonetheless travel to his homeland to get examined by the Uruguayan medical staff or stay in Naples to begin his recovery process.
