President Enrico Preziosi: I Have Big Plans For Genoa
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has given an interim report on his side's season thus far, and he believes they can maintain their early success.
The Grifoni are joint fifth in Serie A, standing alongside city rivals Sampdoria and Parma. having established themselves as a new force in the league since their promotion to the top flight in 2007.
Preziosi believes he can steer the port city club towards even greater heights.
"I want to keep the team in the top half of the league and build a very strong Genoa over the next few years," Preziosi told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"We have a great spirit here at the club. We are not a fairytale."
The Italian chief believes the squad's success is down to the mix of players at coach Gian Piero Gasperini's disposal.
"I think the fortune of this team is down to the human element. There is a great group of players here who play to win with their hearts," added Preziosi.
"We are tranquil, and credit must also go to Gasperini."
