Palermo Star Edinson Cavani ‘Disappointed’ At Barbera Jeers
Palermo striker Edinson Cavani has expressed his frustration at being whistled by a section of the Stadio Barbera crowd during last Sunday’s goalless draw with Genoa.
“I am disappointed at what happened,” he lamented in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“But I will keep going down my path. I want to achieve the best for Palermo and I owe it to my team-mates, the coach and the club who have faith in me.
“I always try and show my attachment to this shirt. I think I didn’t deserve those whistles from the supporters. Then again, people can think whatever they want. But my plans will not change.”
Palermo pay visit to relegation strugglers Bologna this afternoon, but there are fears the Rosanero might be distracted by the forthcoming derby with bitter Sicilian rivals Catania.
“We are only focused on Bologna,” insisted the 22-year-old.
“We want to get an important result away from home and then we will concentrate on the clash with Catania…”
