Napoli Sporting Director: Juventus Target Juan Camilo Zuniga Is Not Up For Sale
Serie A giants Juventus are said to be preparing a January bid for Napoli right-back Juan Camilo Zuniga, but Vesuviani director of sport Riccardo Bigon has moved to quash rumours the Colombian is on his way out of the San Paolo.
“Zuniga is an important player and also an important investment for this club,” he insisted on Radio Marte.
“He has been hampered by a few injury problems, but he will certainly find more space, even though the in-form [Christian] Maggio is currently doing very well in that position.”
Zuniga was one of the revelations in Serie A last term. Napoli paid a reported fee of €8.5 million over the summer to sign him from Tuscan side Siena.
The Partenopei, meanwhile, are expected to revive their interest in Liverpool left-back Andrea Dossena when the transfer market re-opens in January. A summer bid for the player fell flat at the 11th hour.
“It’s too early to mention any names,” mused Bigon.
“We have plugged our hole on the left flank thanks to [Salvatore] Aronica and [Jesus] Datolo, but Dossena is undoubtedly a player we like and we’ll see what happens.”
