Morocco Coach Calls Up 24 Players For Cameroon Encounter - Report

Moroccan national team coach Hassan Moumen has revealed a list of 24 players who will form his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Cameroon, which will be played in Fez on November 14.

The squad he has assembled is radically different from the one that traveled to Gabon, only to get outplayed and beaten by a 3-1 score line.

Gone from the team are the injured Youssef Safri, Marouene Zemmama, Jaouad Zairi, and Mounir El Hamdaoui, as well as the suspended Marouane Chamakh and Amine Erbate.

Jamel Alioui, Hicham Mahdoufi, and Youssef Hadji have also been dropped due to disciplinary reasons that have to do with the behavior prior to their team’s previous loss to the Panthers in Libreville.

Meanwhile, Abdeslam Ouaddou, Issam El Adoua, Nabil Baha, Abdeslam Benjelloun and Nabil Dirar are all back in the squad after a period of inactivity. Zakaria Zarouali and Khalid Sekkat have also been included in the team.

Moumen’s list also has the distinction of having quite a number of locally based players within it, as no less than 10 out of the 24 which have been called up, currently ply their trades in Morocco’s domestic competition.
