First Half Against Milan Is The Best We've Played This Season - Real Madrid Director Jorge Valdano
Real Madrid director general Jorge Valdano declared that Los Blancos first half performance in their UEFA Champions League tie against Milan was the best they have played so far this season.
Karim Benzema put the Spanish side in front just before the half hour mark, pouncing after Dida dropped a Kaka drive but Ronaldinho restored parity from the penalty spot six minutes later.
"The first half is the best we've done this season. We had the ball, attacked often and shot many times. These are the characteristics that should define the team and we will continue this way," Valdano told AS.
"There are still some inconsistencies but the team is still developing."
Madrid still have some work to do to emerge from the group but a win at home to FC Zurich should give them safe passage to the knockout stages but their attentions will now return to the Primera Liga as they face city rivals Atletico Madrid in their third straight domestic tie against local opposition.
