Dida And Favalli Out As Milan Prepare To Invest On Young Players - Report

With the international break currently underway, Milan are taking the opportunity to reflect on transfer strategies, according to Goal.com Italia.

After securing the purchases of Dominic Adiyiah and David Beckham for January, the managers are starting to look forward to June and to the many players whose contracts are running out, including veterans Dida and Giuseppe Favalli.

The former Lazio defender will quit playing and may join coach Leonardo's staff. Meanwhile, the goalkeeper could return to Brazil in January, allowing the club to cash in on his departure instead of losing him for free.

Filippo Inzaghi's contract will also expire at the end of the season, as has been the case for some years now, but once again it will be extended.

Several other players will see their contracts run out in 2011, including defenders Alessandro Nesta and Kakhaber Kaladze, midfield senators Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Ambrosini and Gennaro Gattuso, as well as Ronaldinho. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, there are as many as 11 such players whose current terms are drawing to an end, and it's unlikely they will all be handed an extension.

Indeed, Milan have finally decided to add some youth to their squad. Vice-president Adriano Galliani seems intent on bringing defender Davide Astori of Cagliari and Parma striker Alberto Paloschi back to the club after both players graduated from the Milan youth sector.

Astori's return won't be problematic considering Galliani has forged a good relationship with Cagliari president Massimo Cellino, but the same doesn't apply to Paloschi. The 19-year-old's value has increased considerably after scoring 16 goals for Parma between Serie A and B and the Gialloblu are likely to ask for a substantial sum.

Paloschi is considered by some as Inzaghi's heir, and he scored his first Serie A goal for the Rossoneri in February 2008.
