Coach Massimiliano Allegri Pleased With Cagliari Spirit Following Victory Over Sampdoria
After watching his side secure an important victory over high flying Sampdoria, Cagliari coach Massimiliano Allegri commented on his side’s spirit as he spoke to Cagliaricalcio.net shortly after the game.
“We did extremely well not to get carried away once we were handed a numerical advantage. They were looking to hit us on the counter attack and I was pleased with the way my men didn’t push for the victory at all costs.
“When the sides were level it was a balanced game. However, after the break we put our foot on the accelerator and we lost the fear of victory.
“With these three points we have now built a ten point gap between ourselves and the drop zone. During the course of the season we will have to deal with further difficulties but with this points advantage we can move forward with an added tranquillity.”
