Bayer Leverkusen Youngster Lars Bender Sustains Injury
Young Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender will face a spell on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury in Bayer Leverkusen II's 3-0 league defeat against Verl.
It's not yet known exactly how long the former 1860 Munich youth will be sidelined, as he has yet to undergo further examination. However, Bender has opted to withdraw from the Germany Under-21 team as a precaution.
Bender joined Bayer Leverkusen from 1860 Munich last summer and has made five league appearances for the Werkself so far. He scored his first Bundesliga goal last Friday in the 4-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
