Bari Ace Edgar Alvarez Ruled Out Of Roma Clash
Bari coach Giampiero Ventura will have to make do without the services of influential midfielder Edgar Alvarez for this afternoon’s Serie A match with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 29-year-old was not named in the squad to face his former club after suffering an abductor muscle problem and has been ordered to rest until Tuesday.
“We can still turn in a good performance, provided we throw our anger into it otherwise Roma will maul us,” Ventura downplayed Alvarez’s setback during yesterday’s press conference.
Bari are also without midfielder Alessandro Gazzi and left-back Salvatore Masiello who are carrying knocks, while midfielder Emanuel Rivas is a long-term absentee and will return to action after Christmas.
Ventura has drafted in wingers Filippo Antonelli and Vladimir Koman to cover for Alvarez’s absence.
