Ajax Coach Martin Jol Rues Missed Chances Against Twente

Amsterdam giants Ajax locked horns with table toppers Twente on Sunday afternoon and the Enschede side eventually picked up the full three points courtesy of a Bryan Ruiz goal.

Ajax coach Martin Jol wasn't too disappointed with the loss, though, and emphasized that his side could have won the game if they showed some more clinical finishing before the interval.

"Sometimes, matches like this are decided by minor details. We played a good match before the break and got three chances thanks to Luis Suarez. However, we failed to score and that has cost us in this difficult away game," said Jol in the post-match press conference.

"We gave away the free kick that led to the opener way too easily. That was one of those details I mentioned before. We did everything right at the back and did our best up front too.

"I feel like we deserved at least a draw today. The defeat isn't too much of a blow. We have had some tough away games already and still sit good in the table."

Ajax have collected 29 points so far and trail Twente by six points after thirteen games.
