Injured Ronaldo ruled out of playoffs by Portugal
LISBON, Portugal (AP)—Cristiano Ronaldo will miss both legs of Portugal’s World Cup playoff against Bosnia-Herzegovina after the team’s doctors ruled that his ankle is still injured.
The Portuguese Football Federation said Tuesday in a statement that doctors checked the winger’s fitness after he flew into Lisbon and agreed with Real Madrid’s diagnosis that the player was unfit.
Madrid had initially balked at allowing Ronaldo to travel.
Portugal plays Bosnia-Herzegovina in Lisbon on Saturday and at Zenica on Nov. 18 with a place in next year’s World Cup tournament in South Africa on the line.
Ronaldo was hurt on Sept. 30. He aggravated the injury while playing for Portugal in a qualifier against Hungary on Oct. 10 and hasn’t played since.

I would have rather paid Ribery the money that that @#$% makes! A real team player not a ball hog!!
Footballer of the year! Worst choice ever!! Should have been biggest weiner of the year and someone who has 0 respect in the soccer world!! Does he even know the meaning of team. A real champion wins the world cup and until he does that he will always be nothing!!

Bosnia is borderline mediocre team, it might be improving, but there is no reason for you to be all excited about it. They will likely be watching the world cup from home on the TV, just like you.

wow ur a real rocket scientist...duh...you can put any player...CR, Messi, whoever on a average team and they won't win anything....duh....no player wins things on his own.
I guess you know more about soccer than all of the media and all of the soccer coaches that voted for him, on the Golden ball and Fifa player of the year.

That's a lie, only a small number were penalties, most were free kicks and shots on goal.
