Maradona to attend FIFA disciplinary hearing
ZURICH (AP)—Argentina coach Diego Maradona will attend a disciplinary hearing on Sunday at FIFA headquarters into his expletive-filled outburst following his team’s qualification for the World Cup.
FIFA may punish Maradona for an attack on critics during a press conference that followed a 1-0 win in Uruguay on Oct. 14.
Maradona has said he has nothing to apologize for, but FIFA says he has asked for a personal hearing from disciplinary committee chair Marcel Mathier.

I can give you some reasons of why is taking longer than usual, 80% of the Argentine players play in Europe. They fly, get to the airport, from there, “maybe”, the get to rest a little, practice a little and from there to the game. There is not enough time to practice together, there is not enough time to learn the coach plans for the game, and there is not enough time for the players to know each others behaviors or moves on the field. This is a true fact. People will say that every team has the same problem, not true, especially in South America. If you look at Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay the coach has been the same for at least two years, the base team is already set up and the couching plans have been learned in the past. Now that the Argentina’s National Team has qualified, ugly or not, they will have the necessary time to become a very, very strong team. With these players and the team of excellent couches that Maradona has around, example Carlos Bilardo, World Cup Champion in 1986, Runner up in 1990, there is not limit on what this team can accomplish. I’ll really be surprise is they don’t make it to the finals.
Give Maradona some time, he deserved
The World Cup 2010 finals will be: Spain vs. Argentina.
Is only my personal wish.

A little Brazilian hand of god?
Held in Uruguay they met at the quarter-finals stage on July 17, 1995 . Brazilian Tulio Costa became famous for scoring a late equalizer five minutes from time after controlling the ball with his left arm. Despite the obvious foul, the referee (Alberto Tejada Noriega from Peru) claimed he did not see the incident and the goal stood. The game finished with a 2-2 draw and Brazil went on to win on penalties. The Argentine media labeled the incident as the "hand of the devil".[

Did he qualify fot the world cup? yes (sorry haters)
I think this team will find itself and have a wonderful world cup.
As for Fifa, aka MaFia, as much as they have a hard-on aginst Diego, they can't do @#$% but watch this turn into a success story...
It's been 23 1/2 years since Argentina won in 86 (finals in 90 beat Brazil with Diego), Brazil went 24 years without winning the world cup, we'll see...
Argentina has won most international titles by any national team - 19

for all english readers...yeah, he was a great player, and yeah, he did screw up in his life...but havent we all? cant any of us get redemption and forgiveness? he wants to try to coach a team - let him...he knows soccer, maybe he can help a team who has disgracefully bowed out early in the last 20 years of competition...i think the problem with the team is coaching in the sense that he needs to watch more tape of the club teams his players play for, and then design the national team around that - if argentina were set up like barcelona, messi would go nuts! and lets not forget, coaching a team of "primadonas" has got to be pretty tough for anybody, even for an ex-prima(ra)dona :)
