Turning Alcorcon Tie Around Will Be Tough For Real Madrid - Manuel Pellegrini

Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that turning around a four goal deficit against Alcorcon in the Copa del Rey will be tough but called upon Real Madrid to go for it.

The Chilean coach dismissed suggestions that it was mandatory for his side to qualify despite losing the first leg of the tie so heavily to the third tier minnows.

"Coming back from a 4-0 deficit is always hard, but we know we can do it. We have the talent," he told a press conference on Monday.

"We are very anxious to get out there and to play with intensity. We cannot rush ourselves and we need to make Alcorcon feel like they are playing against the entire Santiago Bernabeu.

"We have the willingness and team spirit, and we need to show it on the pitch.

"I think there has always been a good atmosphere in the dressing room. The players have faith in what they do and it translates into how they play and the final outcomes."

Guti has been left out of the squad for the third game running since he reacted badly to events against Alcorcon in the first leg, but Pellegrini insisted it was not a punishment.

"He will be called up when he and the coaching staff think he is ready. We want him to be like he was at the start of the season. There is no punishment and there is no fighting," the coach added.
