1. Big Sky Montana Ski Area
The Big Sky Montana Ski Area is located near Bozeman. It features 150 trails and a vertical drop of 4,350 feet. It is open daily and lift ticket prices start at $64.
2. Moonlight Basin Ski Area
The Moonlight Basin Ski Area features 101 trails and a vertical drop of 4,150 feet. The Headwaters Trails are exhilarating. It opens daily at 9 a.m. and lift ticket prices start at $25.
3. Montana Snowbowl
The Montana Snowbowl is located in Missoula. It features multiple trails and a 2,600-foot vertical drop. It opens daily at 9:30 a.m. and lift ticket prices start at $19.
4. Red Lodge Mountain
The Red Lodge Mountain features 65 trails and a vertical drop of 2,400 feet. The Black Powder Trail will make you tremble. It opens daily at 9 a.m. and lift ticket prices start at $15.
5. Ski Discovery
Ski Discovery is located in Anaconda. It features 67 trails with a 2,388-foot vertical drop. The backside of the mountain is best for vert. It opens daily at 9 a.m. and ticket prices start at $10.
6. Whitefish Mountain Resort
The Whitefish Mountain Resort is located in Whitefish. It features 98 trails and a vertical drop of 2,353 feet. Experts should head towards Don's Descent. Lift ticket prices start at $17 for weekend night skiing. It opens daily at 9 a.m.
7. Turner Mountain Ski Area
The Turner Mountain Ski Area features 25 trails with a vertical drop of 2,110 feet. The 7th Heaven Trail will give you the run of your life. Lift ticket prices start at $25. It opens on the weekends at 9:30 a.m.
8. Maverick Mountain
Maverick Mountain is located in Polaris. It features 24 trails and a vertical drop of 2,020 feet. The Widow Maker Trail will leave you breathless. Lift ticket prices start at $14 per person, and it opens at 9:30 a.m. Thursday through Sunday.
9. Lost Trail Powder Mountain Ski Area
The Lost Trail Powder Mountain Ski Area is located in Conner. It features over 50 trails and a vertical drop of 1,800 feet. Lift ticket prices start at $13. It opens Thursday through Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
10. Blacktail Mountain Ski Area
The Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is located in Lakeside. It features 25 trails and a vertical drop of 1,440 feet. If you have the skills, the Damnation Trail is worth a try. Lift ticket prices start at $16. It opens Wednesday through Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
